Riyadh, October 05, 2023, The Saudi Falcons Club has officially inaugurated the fifth edition of the Saudi International Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2023. Over the course of ten days, the exhibition will be hosted at the club's headquarters in Malham, situated in the northern region of Riyadh.
Walid Al-Taweel, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Falcons Club, highlighted the exhibition's vital role in promoting falconry as a cherished pastime and celebrating the deep connection between humans and falcons, rooted in ancient Saudi heritage. Falcons have long been companions to people, aiding them in their daily lives, and this enduring relationship has evolved into a sustainable hobby aligning with the goals of Vision 2030, aiming to strengthen Saudi Arabia's national identity and development.
Al-Taweel emphasized that the exhibition, now in its fifth year, represents the culmination of this enduring bond. Each year, it introduces new advancements and stands as the world's largest event of its kind.
The current edition of the exhibition introduces numerous activities and pavilions dedicated to promoting falconry and related interests. Notable pavilions include those featuring firearms and air hunting weapons, a first-of-its-kind platform for sales in the Kingdom. Another pavilion offers equipment and tools for land, sea, and camping trips, while a separate one showcases modified cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. There is also a "Future Falconers" pavilion tailored for children and a "Shalayel" digital museum providing an immersive educational experience about the world of falcons.
The exhibition boasts a diverse range of events and activities, including a dedicated space for Arabic poetry enthusiasts, focusing on themes related to hunting and Arab heritage. Additionally, visitors can enjoy virtual hunting trips using advanced virtual-reality technology, take photos with falcons, explore mosaic murals inspired by hunting and falconry, and witness live folklore shows. Laser shows, fireworks, and a "star trail" experience for desert navigation using celestial cues are also featured.
An international conference, themed "Together... for the Sustainability of Falcons," is scheduled for October 8 and 9. It aims to support the conservation of falcons and sustain the falconry hobby by facilitating the exchange of experiences and ideas. The conference will focus on investment and sustainability, addressing environmental protection and the preservation of falcons, considered a vital heritage of Saudi Arabia and the world.
