Saudi Foreign Minister, His Ukrainian Counterpart Discuss Developments of Ukrainian-Russian Crisis


Riyadh, October 7, 2024 – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, received a phone call today from the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha. During the conversation, Prince Faisal extended his congratulations to Sybiha on his recent appointment, wishing him success in his new role and in carrying out his duties as Ukraine navigates a challenging geopolitical landscape.


The discussion between the two foreign ministers provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine. Both sides expressed their mutual commitment to strengthening ties across various sectors and exploring further avenues of cooperation. As part of the conversation, Prince Faisal and Minister Sybiha also exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian crisis.

Recognizing the critical nature of the conflict, the ministers reviewed the efforts being made to address the crisis and to alleviate its impact on the region. The phone call underscored Saudi Arabia's role in contributing to international discussions aimed at resolving the conflict, as well as the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue and promoting peace.


In addition to discussing the Ukrainian-Russian situation, the two ministers touched on various issues of common interest, highlighting the importance of diplomatic coordination and cooperation on global matters.
