New York, September 22, 2023, The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, met today with the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Republic of the Sudan, Lt-Gen Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Al Burhan, on the margins of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting reviewed the most recent developments in the Republic of Sudan, with Prince Faisal emphasizing the importance of the Sudanese parties' commitment to the resumption of humanitarian work and the protection of civilians and relief workers in order to guarantee the delivery of aid. In addition, he reiterated the Kingdom's call for Sudanese parties to cease hostilities and engage in political dialogue in order to resolve the crisis and restore Sudan's security and stability.
