Saudi Foreign Minister meets US Secretary of State, discusses bilateral, regional issues

Washington, December 09, 2023, The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held a significant meeting with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to address a range of topics encompassing bilateral relations, developments in the Gaza Strip, and various regional issues of shared interest.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal emphasized the urgent necessity of taking decisive measures to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. He underscored the importance of exerting all possible efforts to de-escalate the situation, preventing the escalation of violence with potential repercussions on international peace and security.

Prince Faisal further emphasized the critical need to establish conditions conducive to the return of stability and the resumption of the path towards peace. Central to this objective is ensuring that the Palestinian people attain their rightful and legitimate rights. Additionally, he called for increased efforts to facilitate relief corridors, allowing the prompt delivery of essential humanitarian, food, and medical aid to the Gaza Strip.

In attendance at this significant diplomatic meeting were notable figures, including Saudi Ambassador to the USA, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and the Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood. The discussions held during this meeting exemplify the commitment of both Saudi Arabia and the United States to addressing pressing regional concerns and fostering collaborative efforts to promote stability, peace, and the well-being of affected populations.
