The journey for the Saudi team in the tournament began with an initial defeat in the first preliminary group stage against Japan. However, they rebounded with victories against the Indian team and a draw with the Iraqi team, securing a third-place finish in the group with 3 points.
In the main round, the Saudi team demonstrated its prowess by winning three matches against New Zealand, China, Taipei, and Hong Kong, securing the maximum score of 6 points. The team concluded its matches with a victory over the Chinese national team in the match to determine the ninth and tenth places.
