Cairo, October 10, 2023, Saudi Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, actively participated in the opening of the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, convened under the theme "Together for a Healthier Future." The event took place at the WHO Regional Office in Cairo and is scheduled to run until Thursday.
Key figures, including WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom and WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, delivered speeches during the inaugural session, joined by other prominent speakers.
On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Al-Jalajel held a meeting with Dr. Al-Mandhari, addressing pressing health challenges faced by Eastern Mediterranean countries. The discussions centered on strategies to address and surmount these challenges, with the overarching goal of securing a healthier future and enhancing the quality of life for future generations across the region. This aligns with the aim of promoting sustainable health throughout Eastern Mediterranean countries.
Additionally, Minister Al-Jalajel engaged in discussions with various heads of delegations from member states, encompassing a wide range of global and regional public health matters, all contributing to the pursuit of a healthier future for the region.
