Riyadh, Feb 1, 2024, For the second consecutive year, Saudi hospitals have maintained their top position in the Middle East and Africa, securing notable rankings in the global list of the best 250 hospitals for 2024, as reported by "Brand Finance."
The global ranking featured seven Saudi hospitals, with an impressive five of them securing positions within the top 100 worldwide. Leading the charge is the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC), which retained its premier status in the local and regional healthcare sector.
Mayo Clinic, an American hospital, claimed the overall top spot in the ranking, with the United States dominating a significant 11 positions among the top 25 hospitals. Additionally, several European hospitals secured placements in the prestigious list.
An interesting development in this year's rankings was the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), which leaped to the third position, emerging as the leading healthcare institution outside the United States.
The comprehensive ranking, derived from the insights of healthcare practitioners across more than 30 countries, showcased the excellence of Saudi hospitals, including KFSH&RC, King Saud Medical City (KSMC), King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH), National Guard Health Affairs, King Fahd Medical City (KFMC), King Fahd University Hospital, and King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC).
While the latter two hospitals secured positions between 101 and 205, the remaining Saudi healthcare institutions stood proudly among the top 100 globally.
Observers attribute the noteworthy presence of Saudi hospitals in the global ranking to the strategic initiatives of the Healthcare Sector Transformation Program, a key component of Saudi Vision 2030 spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This achievement is seen as a direct outcome of the unwavering support provided by the wise leadership to the healthcare sector, underscoring the high quality of services extended to both citizens and residents. The recognition in the global arena is a testament to the medical accomplishments across various fields in the Kingdom.
