Jeddah, January 25, 2024, The Saudi Water Sports & Diving Federation and the Ministry of Sport have partnered to host the world's first-ever E1 electric boat racing championship. The event will take place on the Obhur Corniche in Jeddah from February 2 to 3. The world championship season travels through five different cities before coming to an end in Hong Kong in November.
With 16 captains spread across 8 teams, Saud Ahmed and Mashaal Al-Obeidan lead the Saudi squad in the historic E1 race.
The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has officially recognized the E1 as the inaugural electric race boat championship. It showcases a freshwater racing exhibition that encourages the use of clean technologies to protect coastlines and waterways.
There will be water shows and entertainment during the championship.
