Riyadh, August 27, 2023, The Saudi informatics team will compete in the 35th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), which will take place from August 28 to September 4 in the Republic of Hungary, for the fourth time. The Saudi team, which consists of four students, was chosen through a series of challenging programming competitions that were organized in the same manner as the international informatics competition. Along with taking into account the pupils' performances in regional tournaments, this procedure was utilized to select exceptional kids. The team from the Kingdom that took part in the IOI completed five years of intensive preparation under the direction of information technology professionals. The team members began their training when they enrolled in the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity's "Mawhiba" program for international Olympiads, which has a focus on informatics as of the 2018–2019 academic year. The Ministry of Education and Mawhiba have had a strategic cooperation for more than 20 years, and it is the result of this partnership that the Kingdom participates in the IOI and other international contests. This partnership, which serves as a trailblazing example of collaboration between governmental and non-profit entities, strives to identify, develop, and empower gifted individuals.
