Saudi inspires travelers with new ‘Rethink Summer’ campaign

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) today formally unveiled "Rethink Summer," a seasonal marketing initiative designed to position Saudi Arabia as a diversified, distinctive summer travel destination for both domestic and international explorers and adventurers.

At a formal ceremony conducted in Riyadh as part of the campaign launch, STA gathered together important partners from the governmental, corporate, and tourism ecosystems for the first time in its efforts to empower and equip the private sector.

The briefing event served as an exclusive sneak peek at the campaign, the major locales, activities, and experiences being promoted, as well as a call to action for business partners to further develop and reinforce the nation's product offering through their own promotions and deals.

The Honorable The Saudi Tourism Authority's chairman and minister of tourism, Ahmed Al Khateeb, stated:

"Saudi Arabia is currently the country with the quickest rate of growth, and it has demonstrated a year-round ability to receive visitors from all over the world. Based on this, we are happy to introduce the "Rethink Summer" campaign to showcase Saudi Arabia's stunning diversity to the globe, from the cool, lush mountains to the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf shores. Events for entertainment will be unique and open to anyone. With over 1.8 million extra seats for incoming flights, over 15,000 new hotel rooms, and more than 100 goods designed to suit the tastes of all of our visitors this summer, our private sector partners play a key role in this campaign. This is the private sector's largest prior contribution.

The opening of the first three resorts at The Red Sea, the most ambitious, sustainable, premium tourism development in the world, as well as Sindalah Island, NEOM's unrivaled island destination, will be key turning points for the destination this year. Since it opened in November, Diriyah, a 300-year-old mud city and the cradle of Saudi Arabia, has welcomed one million people.

Lionel Messi and his family were welcomed to Saudi Arabia earlier this month for an eventful two-day visit to the nation's capital, Riyadh.
