Riyadh, September 13, 2024 – Abdullah Al-Shebeili, CEO of the Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors, has shared the institute’s goal to elevate Saudi Arabia’s leadership in internal auditing both regionally and globally. This objective aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and benefits from the nation's strong leadership and global influence across multiple sectors.
During the 10th Internal Audit Conference, held on September 11-12, Al-Shebeili underscored the significance of the discussions and contributions, which centered on the future of internal auditing, the application of technology, and the potential of artificial intelligence in governance, risk management, and compliance.
He commended the achievements of young Saudi talent in the field and highlighted the conference's role in encouraging innovation and addressing the challenges faced by the profession.
Three new initiatives were introduced at the conference: the "From Riyadh to the World" initiative, the "Internal Audit Award," and the "Governance, Risk and Compliance" (GRC) program. The "From Riyadh to the World" initiative aims to share Saudi auditing expertise globally through a tour of countries like the U.S., China, and Australia. The Internal Audit Award fosters competition and professional growth among auditors, while the GRC program, developed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, provides training to equip professionals with key skills.
The conference served as a key platform for reviewing best practices, discussing international trends, and gaining insights from global experts, drawing attention from professionals and officials both locally and internationally.
