Riyadh, November 19, 2023, Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, the Saudi International Exhibition for Agriculture and Organic Products, "Biofach 2023," has commenced its activities at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event, spanning three days, features the participation of over 15 countries, 25 specialized companies, and 50 brands dedicated to organic food production.
Recognized as one of the largest international exhibitions in the field, "Biofach 2023" serves as a platform for promoting and marketing investments in agriculture and organic products. It brings together major investors, distributors, suppliers, and solution providers in the global organic products industry, offering a valuable opportunity for exploring international experiences in organic agriculture and staying updated on the latest technologies.
Dr. Suleiman Al-Khatib, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for Agriculture, highlighted the ministry's support for the organic products sector, emphasizing the significant development it is experiencing in the Kingdom. This support is evident through the efforts of the Saudi Organic Farming Association (SOFA), contributing to the increased consumption of organic food.
Dr. Al-Khatib shared positive growth statistics for organic farming in the Kingdom in 2022, including a total organically cultivated area of 23,315 hectares, 512 organic farms, and an overall organic plant production of 95,298 tons. Additionally, organic livestock production saw an increase, with notable figures in sheep, goats, cattle, eggs, honey, and milk products.
