Saudi media minister: The political and security challenges facing the Arab region call for greater integration and cooperative Arab media efforts.

Manama, May 29, 2024. On Tuesday, the Minister of Media, Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, stated that the Arab region's political and security challenges require increased integration and collaborative efforts from Arab media in order to address them. The goal of these efforts is to advance prosperity and growth in Arab countries, as well as fulfill Arab people's hopes and aspirations. During the 19th executive bureau session of the Arab Information Ministers Council, which took place in Manama, Bahrain, he made these statements while serving as the session's chair. The heads of Arab delegations, institutions, and associations, who oversee media tasks under the supervision of the Arab Information Ministers Council, attended this event. In order to address the political and security concerns plaguing the area, Minister Al-Dosari emphasized the significance of boosting cooperative efforts among Arab media outlets.


"Today, we convene to discuss 19 agenda items within the framework of Arab efforts aimed at developing joint Arab media work, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront," said the minister of communications."Recent developments in Gaza have highlighted the international community's failure to fulfill its responsibilities toward an immediate cessation of the occupation forces' aggression, delivering humanitarian aid, and finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause based on international legitimacy," according to the president. Al-Dosari noted that the Kingdom, through its leadership of the executive bureau of the Arab Information Ministers Council, has suggested an initiative to effectively and positively connect with worldwide media firms and their platforms.


He went on to say that this not only serves to defend the rights and interests of Arab countries, but it also creates an environment that is advantageous for business. In his statement, Al-Dosari added that the sessions investigated several approaches to enhance media content and make the most of the technological revolution in communication channels. He mentioned that they talked about important topics such as the role that the media plays in the fight against terrorism, the efforts that the Arab League is making to monitor the Arab external action plan, and the Arab media map for sustainable development by the year 2030.
