Sheryll Mericido

Beijing, September 19, 2023, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, met with a number of Saudi students studying in China on scholarships as part of an official visit designed to strengthen ties between the two countries' mining and manufacturing sectors, evaluate investment prospects in both countries, and shine a spotlight on the Saudi government's efforts to advance these vital industries. Al-Khorayef told the students that the Kingdom is counting on them to make the future even brighter and that studying abroad is an important and inspiring cultural bridge that helps people know each other's culture and communicate. He explained that initiatives like the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program and the Human Capability Development Program were designed to increase individuals' chances of success on a global scale.

Ministers and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority want to keep in touch with scholarship recipients and introduce them to potential career paths in the mining and industrial sectors, he said.

Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to China Abdulrahman Ahmad Al-Harbi and Saudi Cultural Attaché in China Dr. Ahmad Al-Zahrani were in attendance, as were several leaders from the industry and mineral resources sectors.
