Riyadh, December 10, 2023,Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), held a meeting on Saturday with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Dr. Thomas Bach, who is currently on a visit to Riyadh.
During the meeting, the significant role that the Kingdom plays on the global sports stage was a focal point of discussion. The discussion highlighted the instrumental role of Saudi Vision 2030 and its ambitious goals, particularly in the domain of hosting major sporting events.
Among the key events discussed were the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games scheduled for Riyadh in 2025, the Asian Winter Games (TROJENA 2029), and the Asian Games slated for Riyadh in 2034. These events underscore Saudi Arabia's commitment to showcasing its growing influence and capabilities in organizing and hosting major international sporting competitions.
