Saudi Ministry honors Mali Quran competition with closing ceremony

Bamako, February 13, 2024, The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance hosted the closing ceremony of the Mali National Competition for Memorizing and Interpreting the Holy Quran, signaling the culmination of a significant event aimed at honoring the sacred text.

This esteemed competition, conducted in collaboration with the Union of Schools and Centers for Quran Memorization in Mali, spanned from January 19 to 23, 2024, attracting 100 participants hailing from all corners of Mali.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance at the ceremony were Saudi Ambassador to Mali, Khalid bin Mabrouk Al-Khaled, and Mali's Minister of Religious and Worship Affairs, Mohamed Omar Kony, along with various eminent political, social, and religious figures.

During the proceedings, Minister Kony delivered an address expressing gratitude towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering dedication to serving Islam and Muslims globally. He also lauded the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance for its instrumental role in orchestrating and supporting the competition, alongside other impactful initiatives and programs.

The competition stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's steadfast commitment and leadership in promoting the Holy Quran, facilitating its recitation, memorization, and interpretation. Moreover, it serves as a platform to fortify the bond between Saudi Arabia and Mali, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

In recognition of their exceptional accomplishments, the winners of the competition were bestowed with esteemed prizes and awards, underscoring the significance of their contributions to the preservation and dissemination of the Holy Quran's teachings.
