Saudi ministry oversees MoU for localizing potato seed production techniques

Riyadh, Jan 26, 2024, The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture presided over the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Al Jouf Agricultural Development Company (JADCO) and E Green Global (EGG) from the Republic of Korea. This agreement revolves around the transfer and localization of potato seed production techniques within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi-Korean MoU lays the foundation for the advancement of the potato seed production industry, making a significant contribution to the sustainability of the local agricultural sector in the Kingdom. The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Ahmed Saleh Aiadh, the Deputy Minister for Agriculture.

This collaborative effort is geared towards facilitating the transformation of local companies into industrial agricultural entities, empowering them to export their products to global markets. The overarching goal of the initiative is to bolster the sustainability of the agricultural sector, ensuring food security for essential commodities and enhancing the country's trade balance.

The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for both parties to foster collaboration in various areas, facilitating the exchange of expertise to achieve the outlined objectives.
