ABHA — With a decisive 3-0 victory over Lebanon in the second round of the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers for Qatar 2024, the Saudi Olympic national team extended their winning streak.
On Saturday, the game was held at the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Abha.
In the 10th minute, Abdullah Radif scored the game's first goal. Saad Al-Nasser then scored his second goal in the final seconds of the first half. In the 90+3rd minute, Mohammed Maran scored his third goal to secure the win.
The Saudi team took control of the match from the first minutes, constantly attacking the Lebanese defense with direct shots and ongoing movements.
Following this second straight victory, the Saad Al-Shahri-coached Saudi national team topped their group with six points and an identical number of goals.
They are currently awaiting the result of the game between Cambodia and Mongolia, where a draw would guarantee Saudi Arabia's entry into the championship round.
