On September 15, 2024, in Riyadh, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) organized educational and awareness events across Saudi Arabia in observance of World First Aid Day, which was celebrated on September 14. This year's theme was "First Aid and Sports." At various public venues throughout the Kingdom, participants had the opportunity to learn vital first-aid skills through interactive training sessions conducted by emergency medical services specialists. They practiced techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), choking relief, and management of sports-related injuries using training dolls. The events also featured demonstrations of the latest first aid equipment, including the LUCAS device, a sophisticated mechanical system that delivers continuous chest compressions during CPR. SRCA emphasized the critical role of first aid in saving lives and engaged both public and private agencies to raise awareness about handling sports-related emergencies, including injuries, fainting, suffocation, burns, and fractures.
