Makkah, March 25, 2025 – The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has opened two helipads at Makkah’s Grand Mosque to speed up emergency medical evacuations, improving healthcare services for pilgrims and Umrah performers in preparation for the Hajj season.

The helipads will facilitate the swift transport of critical patients to hospitals in Makkah and Jeddah.

Furthermore, the Grand Mosque's emergency hospital is equipped with intensive care units, medical laboratories, radiology services, an in-house pharmacy, and isolation units for infectious diseases.
