MAKKAH March 29, 2025 — The Saudi Red Crescent Authority successfully conducted the first-ever air medical evacuation from the Grand Mosque, utilizing the newly inaugurated air ambulance helipad at the Third Saudi Expansion.

This milestone enhances emergency medical services for pilgrims.

The operation was initiated when a patient suffering from angina was treated at the Haram Emergency Hospital and then airlifted to King Abdullah Medical City for further care, following top medical protocols.

The new helipad significantly improves emergency response times within the Grand Mosque, enabling rapid transfers of critical cases to specialized hospitals for immediate treatment.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the Grand Mosque, ensuring world-class medical services for pilgrims, particularly during the high-traffic Hajj and Umrah seasons.
