Saudi regions prepare for diverse weather conditions, says National Center

Riyadh, October 25, 2023, As per the latest weather report released by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), various regions across Saudi Arabia are bracing for a mixed bag of weather conditions today. Anticipated are thunderstorms of both moderate and torrential intensity, coupled with robust winds that are set to impact multiple areas.

The affected regions include Eastern, Qassim, Hail, Northern Borders, Madinah, Jazan, and Asir, along with the eastern sectors of Najran Region, specifically Al Kharkhir. These meteorological phenomena are expected to significantly reduce visibility, posing challenges to commuters and residents alike.

Furthermore, the inclement weather is forecast to extend its reach to the Baha and Makkah regions, as well as some parts of the Riyadh Region. These areas can also anticipate thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, leading to decreased visibility on the roads.

For those venturing out to sea, particularly in the Red Sea, it's essential to stay updated with the changing conditions. The winds in the northern and central parts of the Red Sea are expected to be northerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 12 to 35 kilometers per hour. On the southern side, the winds will initially be southeasterly to southwesterly, gradually transitioning to northerly during the night, with speeds of 10 to 32 kilometers per hour. Thunderclouds are also expected to make an appearance, adding to the maritime challenges.

In the Arabian Gulf, mariners can anticipate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, blowing at speeds ranging from 15 to 40 kilometers per hour. These maritime conditions necessitate vigilance for those planning sea activities.

In light of these weather forecasts, it is advisable for residents, travelers, and mariners to exercise caution, stay updated on the latest weather reports, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during these challenging meteorological conditions.
