Riyadh, October 18, 2023, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), inaugurated the Middle East Forum 2023 in Riyadh. This two-day event, organized in collaboration with the Peace and Sport organization, is being hosted at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter on October 18 and 19.
During the opening, Prince Abdulaziz highlighted Saudi Arabia's prominent role in the global sports arena, emphasizing the nation's commitment to fostering sports development and spreading a message of peace. He underscored how Saudi Arabia achieves this by hosting major sports events that draw diverse athletes and fans, and he lauded the support of Saudi leadership in promoting love and peace on a global scale.
In attendance at the forum, Prince Albert II, the Sovereign Prince of the Principality of Monaco, recognized the unique role of sports in uniting people for common objectives and empowering communities to rebuild relationships while fostering resilience.
The forum served as a platform for discussions on various sports-related topics, with a particular focus on strengthening the link between sports and peace. It attracted global sports personalities and featured the 2023 Peace and Sport organization awards ceremony on its first day.
