Riyadh, March 05, 2024, Saudi male and female students demonstrated their literary prowess by clinching prestigious awards at the Poetry, Story, and Novel Competition hosted by Sharjah City, United Arab Emirates. The competition, which marked its inaugural edition at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) level, was organized by the Arabic Language Education Centre for the Gulf States (ALECGS), affiliated with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS).
Abdulrahman bin Saad bin Mohammed Talian, representing the Education Department in Al-Kharj Governorate, achieved the remarkable feat of securing a gold medal at the Gulf level in the poetry category. Joining the list of accomplished winners, Bassam bin Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Rajhi, from the General Department of Education in Riyadh Region, earned a gold medal in the Novel Category. Additionally, Al-Jawhara bint Hassan bin Ali Al-Omari, hailing from the General Department of Education in Asir Region, attained the silver medal in the Story Category.
This competition holds significant importance as it seeks to deepen loyalty and belonging to the Arabic language, recognizing it as one of the most vital tools for enhancing national identity. The event, organized and supervised by ALECGS in Sharjah, underscores the commitment to fostering literary talents and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Gulf region.
