Manama, October 27, 2024 — Saudi students have shown impressive athletic prowess at the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade 2024 in Bahrain, clinching three medals on the event’s second day. The multi-sport event, which brings together young athletes from around the globe, will continue until Thursday, with Saudi Arabia’s students competing in various sports and demonstrating notable success early in the championship.
Among the standout performances, student Safana Al-Ahmadi earned a gold medal in archery, highlighting her precision and skill. In para-swimming, Ibrahim Al-Marzouqi took the silver medal, marking a significant achievement for Saudi Arabia in the event. Additionally, visually impaired student Raneem Al-Anzi secured a bronze medal in para judo, further showcasing the dedication and talent within the Saudi team.
The Saudi School Sports Federation's president, Ali Al-Shuailan, praised the athletes, stating that their early participation in the Gymnasiade has been remarkable, with several students advancing to higher rounds in their respective events. Al-Shuailan noted that the Saudi school team comprises an exceptional group of students guided by skilled coaches who have worked tirelessly to prepare them for the international stage.
Saudi Arabia’s delegation includes 18 school teams, both boys and girls, competing across multiple sports disciplines against athletes from 72 countries. Their continued success not only reflects the skill and dedication of these young athletes but also highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and promoting the spirit of competition on a global scale.
