Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee meets in Hanoi, discusses strengthened economic cooperation

Hanoi, December 06, 2023, The Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee convened its fifth meeting in Hanoi, chaired by Eng. Abdulaziz Majed Al-Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Strategies and Industrial Sectors from the Saudi side, and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Phan Thi Thang. Representatives from various government agencies attended the meeting.


Key discussion points included reinforcing relations and common interests between Saudi Arabia and Vietnam, aligning with the economic, scientific, and technical cooperation agreement signed in Hanoi on May 25, 2006. The committee emphasized efforts to increase investment volumes in prioritized sectors, foster cooperation in trade, exports, and investments, and explore opportunities for collaboration.


Both sides expressed a shared desire to enhance trade ties, broaden the range of trade products, and support trade initiatives. They discussed strategies such as encouraging the exchange of trade missions and participation in economic activities in both countries.


The meeting concluded with an agreement to intensify collaboration across various sectors, including foreign relations, trade, energy, industry, transportation, agriculture, environment, investment, finance, development support, health, education, training, human resources development, media, culture, tourism, justice, security, defense, science, technology, and innovation. This commitment reflects the comprehensive nature of the bilateral relationship and the shared aspirations for mutual growth and development.
