Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, February 27, 2024: In a strategic move to enhance guest experience and boost operational capabilities, Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has entered into a significant contract with Collins Aerospace. This collaboration marks a pivotal milestone, outlining a comprehensive upgrade to Saudia's fleet interiors and opening avenues for synergies with Saudia Group’s subsidiary, Saudia Technic.
As part of the agreement, Collins Aerospace, a globally renowned aviation solutions provider, will install newly designed seats in Saudia's upcoming Boeing 787 fleet, slated for delivery from early 2026 onward. Furthermore, a comprehensive seat retrofit program is in the pipeline for Saudia’s existing Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 fleet, commencing in late 2025 and concluding by late 2027. A notable feature of this plan is the incorporation of private suites in the Business Class cabin across Saudia’s wide-body fleet, ensuring an elevated and luxurious travel experience for guests.
The collaboration also entails the establishment of localized repair capabilities and select spares manufacturing capabilities with Saudia Technic. This move reinforces the Group’s commitment to regional content localization, aiming to enhance Saudia's in-house repair capabilities, streamline spares support, and provide comprehensive solutions to optimize fleet performance and operational efficiency.
