During a special event, His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of SAUDIA Group, honored one of the company's longest-tenured pilots. One of the first commercial pilots to work for the airline was Captain Abdulhameed Abdulrahman Malki. The celebration highlighted SAUDIA's beginnings and historical development as it looked back on its rich past.
Honoring Captain Malki is a tribute to the generation of pioneers who have greatly contributed to the growth of Saudi Arabia's aviation industry, according to Engr. Ahmed Alwassiah, designated SAUDIA CEO. Captain Malki's lengthy career is evidence of his dedication to SAUDIA, and during his term, he enjoyed the respect of state royals and authorities.
Engr. Alwassiah reaffirmed SAUDIA's desire to nationalize a number of specialized roles in the aviation industry, pointing out that the airline was successful in totally nationalizing the First Officer position three years ago and has plans to do the same for all pilot positions in the future. It is encouraging to watch Sauda's founders interact with the younger generation since it represents the heritage of the airline's success as it grows and soars to new heights. Engineer Alwassiah said
Captain Malki expressed his appreciation for SAUDIA's commitment to enhancing staff members' skills throughout time and acknowledging their achievements beyond retirement. He also emphasized the importance of the present generation to SAUDIA and their involvement in the development of the airline.
One of his former coworkers applauded the previous generation's exceptional performance despite the limited resources at their disposal. He said that because today offers more sophisticated technology and resources, it is the current generation's duty to carry on the operational triumphs of the prior generations. The celebration featured visual tributes to the pilot's career that acknowledged and praised his journey, and Captain Malki's family and friends were present.
