Riyadh, February 20, 2025 – On the first day of the Saudi Media Forum, held in Riyadh from February 19 to 20, the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) signed six landmark collaboration agreements in the fields of broadcasting and media training with various government and private sector organizations. The agreements aim to foster stronger cooperation, promote media innovation, and enhance the development of media content, marking a significant step toward shaping the future of media in the Kingdom.

Among the diverse organizations involved in these agreements were Arabsat, stc, the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA), the National eLearning Center, and Red Sea Global (RSG). These partnerships reflect a commitment to advancing the media landscape in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing both technological innovation and high-quality content creation.

One of the standout agreements was with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), which aims to enhance the commission's international presence. This partnership will involve extensive media coverage of international media delegations visiting AlUla during global summits, conferences, and seasonal events. Additionally, the agreement will facilitate comprehensive coverage of AlUla’s own local and international events, ensuring that the Kingdom’s rich cultural and historical heritage is showcased on the global stage. This collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to position AlUla as a global tourism and heritage destination, further amplifying its historical significance.

The agreement with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) is another crucial development, focused on sharing geospatial data and information. This partnership aims to elevate the Kingdom’s global image by showcasing its advancements in the geospatial sector, particularly its leadership in utilizing geospatial data for sustainable development and technological innovation. Furthermore, this collaboration will help train and qualify national media professionals, ensuring that Saudi talent is equipped with the necessary skills to effectively utilize geospatial data in media projects.

The Saudi Media Forum, alongside the concurrent Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX), provides a unique platform for media creators, leaders, and innovators to come together, exchange ideas, and form partnerships. These events serve as a catalyst for collaboration between creative minds and technological pioneers, with a focus on promoting sustainable development and shaping the future of media. The forum also features the Saudi Media Forum Award, which seeks to recognize and honor media innovators while fostering competition and the development of outstanding media content.

Through these strategic agreements, SBA is reinforcing its role as a key player in advancing the media sector in Saudi Arabia, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, training, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies. These initiatives are set to have a long-lasting impact on the Kingdom’s media landscape, enhancing its ability to produce compelling, high-quality content that resonates both locally and internationally.
