Riyadh, March 30, 2025 – The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has made significant strides in supporting the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) through its digital services and initiatives, leveraging technology to promote environmental sustainability, reduce waste, and bolster community-based environmental protection efforts. These contributions underscore the importance of digital transformation in shaping a prosperous and sustainable future.
The unified national access portal (Nafath) has processed over 3.3 billion transactions, cutting down on paper usage and eliminating approximately 300,000 daily car trips to service centers, which in turn reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Furthermore, the Deem Government Cloud has consolidated 263 government data centers, resulting in an energy savings of more than 591 gigawatt-hours.
Simultaneously, the national app Tawakkalna, with over 33 million users, handles up to 100 million digital transactions daily with exceptional efficiency, minimizing the need for paper-based processes and physical movement, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure.
Additionally, the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work has supported environmental initiatives by funding 48 green projects and planting more than 261,000 trees in collaboration with 41 charitable organizations, with a total funding of over SAR 5.8 million. This illustrates the synergy between technology and charitable efforts in environmental preservation.
SDAIA remains at the forefront of national efforts in data and artificial intelligence, enhancing digital infrastructure, equipping organizations with technological solutions, and strengthening the digital economy to support Saudi Vision 2030 goals and sustainable development.
