SDAIA hosts the first Global Smart City Forum in Riyadh, February 12-13

Riyadh, January 12, 2024, The inaugural Global Smart City Forum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is set to take place in Riyadh on February 12-13 at the Arena Riyadh Venue for Exhibitions. With the participation of 80 speakers from over 40 countries, this event promises enriching discussions surrounding the concepts and significance of smart cities, particularly focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in city development.

Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, the President of SDAIA, emphasized the global importance of leveraging AI technologies to enhance the lives of citizens, acknowledging the rapid evolution of advanced technologies worldwide. The decision to host this forum aligns with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of SDAIA's Board of Directors.

SDAIA, recognized as the national reference for data and AI organization, development, and operations in Saudi Arabia, plays a pivotal role in driving the Kingdom's initiatives in these domains. The forum aims to facilitate dialogue on the future of smart cities, addressing infrastructure challenges and exploring innovative solutions to meet the needs of growing urban populations globally.

In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 and the Saudi Vision 2030, the forum will showcase the progress achieved by the Kingdom and other nations in establishing smart cities. Anticipating more than 18,000 visitors, the event will create a global platform for smart cities, uniting experts from around the world who specialize in the construction of smart cities and AI technologies.
