Riyadh, September 13, 2024 — The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has unveiled the UN International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) AI Readiness Framework, marking the introduction of the world’s first globally recognized tool designed to help nations assess their readiness for artificial intelligence (AI) and encourage international cooperation in this field
This significant announcement was made during the third edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit), which SDAIA hosted in Riyadh from September 10 to 12. The AI Readiness Framework provides a detailed set of guidelines to assist countries in evaluating their AI capabilities, formulating strategies for AI deployment, and promoting both sustainable development and economic progress. Its goal is to establish a universal standard for measuring AI readiness and to support global collaboration.
The framework is intended for a diverse group of stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, leaders in the AI industry, international organizations, development agencies, academic institutions, AI professionals, businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and media representatives.
