SDAIA, Ministry of Health Strengthen Cooperation in Managing National Health Data

SDAIA and the Ministry of Health signed an MoU to strengthen collaboration on data management in healthcare, focusing on regulatory frameworks and skills development.

Riyadh, October 27, 2024 — In a strategic move to advance Saudi Arabia’s health sector, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and the Ministry of Health have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in national data management. The signing ceremony took place during the seventh edition of the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to harnessing data and AI to improve healthcare.


The MoU outlines several key initiatives to support regulatory frameworks governing national data management within the health sector. Among its objectives, the agreement aims to strengthen collaboration on national data programs, foster skill development in data management, and promote a culture of awareness and best practices around data governance. This partnership reflects both entities' shared vision of modernizing and streamlining healthcare services through data-driven decision-making.


SDAIA's Acting CEO of the National Data Governance Sector, Zaher Osama Sharifi, and Ministry of Health Data Management Office Director Saad Abdul Latif Al-Huzami signed the MoU. The signing was witnessed by key figures, including Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Abd Al-Aali and SDAIA National Data Management Office Vice President Eng. Meshaal Al-Sarhan.


This collaboration aligns closely with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes the use of data and artificial intelligence (AI) to elevate the quality of life and healthcare services across the Kingdom. The MoU solidifies both organizations' dedication to enhancing regulatory tools, fostering data program participation, and building robust data capabilities within the health sector.
