On September 15, 2024, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and Oliver Wyman, a leading global management consulting firm and subsidiary of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), signed a memorandum of cooperation to boost Saudi Arabia’s artificial intelligence capabilities. This partnership will result in the introduction of the "Kingdom AIQ Framework" within the next 12 months. The agreement was formalized by Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairi, Chief Executive of the Strategy Management Office at SDAIA, and Abdulelah AlBarrak, Partner at Oliver Wyman in Saudi Arabia, during the third edition of the Global AI Summit held in Riyadh from September 10 to 12, 2024. The summit, which hosted over 450 speakers and attracted AI experts and decision-makers from 100 countries, focused on advancing AI technologies. The "Kingdom AIQ Framework" is designed to build on the insights from the joint report by SDAIA and Oliver Wyman titled Innovation Oasis: The Landscape of Generative AI in the Kingdom, which reviews the current state of generative AI, identifies best practices, and provides a framework for evaluating the maturity and readiness of Saudi organizations and government entities.
