Riyadh, April 08, 2024, The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is deeply committed to providing intelligent solutions and secure digital services, with a particular focus on supporting government entities that cater to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, especially during the Umrah season. These efforts are in line with SDAIA's mission to advance research in data and AI, thereby enhancing services at the Two Holy Mosques and promoting innovation in AI.
SDAIA's strategic objectives include integration with government sectors related to serving Umrah performers and visitors, to deliver exceptional services as directed by the wise leadership. This integration aligns with the goals of the Pilgrim Experience Program, a key component of Saudi Vision 2030.
To streamline the experience for visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, SDAIA has incorporated services from various government entities into the "Tawakkalna" application, which is accessible in seven languages across 77 countries. These services encompass issuing Umrah permits, checking weather conditions, determining the Qibla direction, and providing prayer times.
Recognizing the transformative potential of AI technologies, SDAIA collaborates closely with relevant entities to enhance services for Umrah performers and worshippers, particularly in terms of crowd management and monitoring at entry points. The "Baseer" platform, developed by SDAIA, leverages national algorithms to organize crowds, manage movement flow, and offer advanced data analytics dashboards for real-time insights.
Moreover, SDAIA actively supports entry points by deploying human resources and technological devices, implementing preventive maintenance measures, and providing comprehensive training on devices, systems, and updates. These initiatives collectively enhance operational efficiency at border crossings and contribute to a seamless experience for travelers.
