Riyadh, February 19, 2024, During the 3rd Saudi Media Forum organized by the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) in collaboration with the Saudi Journalists Association, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) hosted a workshop highlighting the pivotal role of data and artificial intelligence (AI) within the media industry. Held in Riyadh on February 20–21, 2024, the forum saw SDAIA assuming the role of a digital facilitator, underscoring its commitment to advancing technological innovation.
The workshop, led by Dr. Khaled Alhazmi, SAUDIA’s Vice President of Operations and IT Support, and Dr. Zafar Al-Halafi, the General Supervisor of the Data Management Office at the SBA, delved into various aspects of AI and its implications for media. Topics covered included the transformative impact of generative artificial intelligence, an exploration of the advantages and drawbacks of AI, the role of big data, practical applications and methodologies of data AI, the influence of AI on innovating media tools, and the ethical considerations surrounding its integration within the media landscape.
