Cairo, September 2, 2024 — The Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) has announced its plans to host the Second Arab Forum aimed at enhancing transparency and good governance under the theme “Integrity: An Essential Ingredient in the Era of Complexity and Opportunities.” The event is scheduled to take place in Baghdad from September 10 to 12, in collaboration with Transparency International EU and Iraq’s Federal Commission of Integrity. This forum is part of a broader effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by promoting transparency and accountability in the Arab region.

According to ARADO, the forum seeks to create a comprehensive roadmap for promoting integrity and transparency, which are crucial elements for effective governance and sustainable development. The forum will also aim to reinforce the political agenda across the Arab world for combating corruption. By bringing together key stakeholders, the event hopes to foster a culture of openness and ethical governance practices that are essential in today’s complex socio-political landscape.

One of the primary objectives of the forum is to build a strong collaborative framework that includes governments, the media, civil society, and the private sector. ARADO envisions this collaboration as a way to identify both the strengths and weaknesses within current anti-corruption strategies, allowing for a more targeted and effective approach. The forum will provide a unique platform for dialogue, enabling participants to share insights and best practices, and to develop a participatory action plan that enhances integrity and transparency efforts across the region.

The forum is expected to produce a series of recommendations aimed at fostering cooperative and substantive measures to combat corruption. These recommendations will focus on building robust and agile methodologies that can adapt to the rapidly changing challenges of governance in the Arab world. Additionally, the event will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, promoting dialogue, and encouraging cooperation among all stakeholders, which is crucial for the development of effective anti-corruption strategies.

The event will feature a distinguished lineup of officials, experts, and researchers from various international and regional organizations specializing in development, anti-corruption, and oversight. These participants, who have a deep understanding and keen interest in anti-corruption initiatives, will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the discussions. The forum’s diverse range of speakers will ensure a comprehensive exploration of the issues at hand, providing attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of transparency and governance.

Overall, the Second Arab Forum represents a significant step forward in the region’s efforts to enhance transparency, promote good governance, and combat corruption. By bringing together a broad array of stakeholders and fostering an environment of cooperation and collaboration, the forum aims to pave the way for a more transparent and accountable future in the Arab world.
