“We are keeping a close watch on hajj pilgrims through holy sites using all the resources at our disposal,” said General Security Aviation Command.

Airliners are used supporting and guaranteeing pilgrims’ safety through a mixture of personnel on land, in the air and technology in between.

Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah trips as well as other religiously revered regions are constantly under surveillance by aircrafts while pilgrims move back and forth.

June 15, 2024, Arafat. The General Security Aviation Command, which is part of the Presidency of State Security, has made use of all available resources and made sure that pilgrims are as well-equipped as possible in order to monitor the movement of Hajj pilgrims around the holy sites. During the Hajj season of 1445 AH, the command is committed to assisting pilgrims by utilizing aircraft, human personnel, and technical assets. The command has decided to continuously patrol the skies over Makkah and the holy sites. These patrols closely monitor the security situation and traffic flow during pilgrims' journeys to Mina and Arafat, as well as their visits to the holy sites. Patrols continue to monitor pilgrims' travels to Muzdalifah and other holy spots. The purpose of the aircraft patrols is to monitor human density while also making use of the knowledge and skills of the air troops and personnel. This allows them to closely monitor the security situation during the Hajj season and identify any potential issues.
