Riyadh, February 19, 2024, The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) inked a significant partnership agreement on Sunday with renowned Japanese sportswear brand ASICS, solidifying their role as the strategic sponsor for various events under the auspices of the SFA.
Representing their respective entities at the signing ceremony were Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini, Executive Director of the SFA, and Seiji Hori, General Manager of ASICS Arabia. This collaboration marks a continuation of the strong ties between the two nations, which are integral to the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Project (SVJ2030). The overarching goal of this project is to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors of both countries.
Under the terms of the agreement, ASICS will serve as a strategic partner and official sponsor for two prominent sporting events organized by the SFA, notably the Riyadh Marathon. Additionally, ASICS will provide athletic apparel for participants in the race, delivering sports shirts designed with cutting-edge Japanese technology.
This partnership follows a recent visit by members of the SFA to Japan, where they engaged in discussions with various sports organizations. During their visit, the SFA delegation toured the ASICS Institute of Sport Science, a globally renowned institution specializing in advanced sports technology.
By forging alliances with leading global sports institutions like ASICS, the SFA aims to inspire diverse segments of society to engage in physical activities through innovative programs and initiatives. Mandated by the Ministry of Sport and in alignment with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program, the SFA is committed to enhancing the quality of life by promoting an active lifestyle.
As the regulatory authority for community sports, the SFA is steadfast in its commitment to increasing the percentage of individuals engaging in physical activity, with specific targets set at 60% for the elderly and 20% for the youth.
