Riyadh, March 4, 2024, The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) CEO, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, and Deputy Minister for Telecom and Infrastructure at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Bassam Al-Bassam, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the LEAP 24 international technological conference. The MoU aims to enhance knowledge exchange and leverage the ministry's expertise to develop digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and technologies in developing countries that benefit from the development support provided by the SFD through funded projects and programs.
The agreement outlines mechanisms and development programs that will be prepared in collaboration with relevant entities in the Kingdom. These programs aim to activate the digital economy by exporting advanced digital services internationally. Additionally, the MoU will contribute to supporting developing countries by funding development projects in the digital infrastructure sector and transferring the knowledge and expertise that Saudi Arabia possesses in information technology and communications to various countries worldwide.
