SFD to provide $10 million to AIIB for least developed countries

Sharm El-Sheikh, September 26, 2023, In accordance with a contribution agreement signed today by Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), and Danny Alexander, vice president and corporate secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the SFD will provide USD 10 million to support the bank's new window financing programs for the least developed member countries. The deal was signed concurrently with the Board of Governors of the AIIB's annual meeting, which was held this year in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The deal intends to help the AIIB fill the funding deficit in order to promote infrastructure and other productive sectors in its member nations.
