Riyadh, March 31, 2025, The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) recorded an 82% increase in licensed factories and warehouses in 2024 compared to 2023.
The SFDA attributed this growth to regulatory system enhancements that have facilitated investment through multiple initiatives, including re-engineering licensing procedures and stimulating industries in collaboration with government entities.
In 2024, licenses were granted for 693 food factories and 3,857 warehouses, while the pharmaceutical sector saw approvals for eight factories and 565 warehouses. Additionally, 42 factories and 857 warehouses were licensed in the cosmetics sector, 24 factories and 1,405 warehouses in the medical devices sector, and 29 factories and 270 warehouses in the feed sector, alongside the approval of nine private laboratories.
