Makkah, April 26, 2024, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, the President of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, recently praised Saudi Vision 2030 for harmoniously blending traditional values with modernity while upholding moderate religious principles. This vision, spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, is fundamental to the Kingdom's role as a pillar of the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Sheikh Al-Sudais highlighted the Kingdom's esteemed religious stature, its profound cultural heritage rooted in history, and its economic leadership as key pillars of Vision 2030. He affirmed that this visionary initiative not only promotes moderate religious values but also fosters tolerance and moderation, essential elements for societal progress.
The President of Religious Affairs further emphasized Vision 2030's strategic objective of strengthening the Kingdom's Islamic depth, particularly in serving the Two Holy Mosques and enhancing the religious experience for visitors. This includes a comprehensive range of specialized religious development initiatives aimed at enriching pilgrims' spiritual journeys.
These efforts, as noted by Sheikh Al-Sudais, solidify Saudi Arabia's pioneering role across religious, Islamic, global, and civilizational domains. A testament to this vision's impact is seen in the historic surge of foreign Umrah performers, exceeding 13.56 million pilgrims. This figure not only surpasses the estimated target for 2023 but also exceeds the baseline set for Umrah performers.
Additionally, the number of volunteers assisting Umrah performers has surpassed expectations, with over 131,000 volunteers, highlighting the collaborative efforts and community engagement fostered by Vision 2030.
Overall, Vision 2030's overarching goal of accommodating 30 million pilgrims underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing its religious and cultural offerings while promoting a spirit of inclusivity, hospitality, and service excellence.
