Riyadh, October 5, 2023, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, president of the Gulf Football Association, reaffirmed the association's support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's candidacy to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa expressed his confidence in the Saudi bid's ability to fulfill all hosting requirements. He also wished Morocco, Spain, and Portugal well in hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup. He congratulated the Kingdom of Morocco on winning the bid to co-host the tournament with them.
