Sinopec, Saudi Arabia launch joint venture polycarbonate plant

Riyadh, September 01, 2023, The Sinopec Corporation and the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) of Saudi Arabia announced that their new polycarbonate plant, which is a part of their joint venture Sinopec-SABIC-Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd., has begun operating commercially. Sinopec SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd., a sizable petrochemical complex comprised of nine top-notch production facilities built to produce chemicals, polyethylene, and polypropylene, was founded in 2009. The operation of the polycarbonate factory represents a new stage in the progress of the joint project between SABIC and Sinopec and enhances the partners' ability to meet the requirements of the regional polycarbonate market. The new polycarbonate factory's production capacity is 260,000 tons per year, making it a key component in SABIC's strategy for growth in the field of polycarbonate production in China.

Abdul Rahman Al-Fageeh, Sinopec and his company are creating enormous chances for growth that benefit both parties and advance the objectives of their respective countries' national agendas.
