Slot, the new manager of Liverpool, acknowledges that he was drawn in by the club.

Arne Slot, the coach of Feyenoord, to become his successor in Liverpool.

Slot maintained that the opportunity to work with one of the best teams in the world was impossible to resist.

Slot's deal with Liverpool is understood to be three years in length, while the exact length remains a mystery.

Arne Slot said that it was "impossible to pass up" the chance to work for one of the greatest teams in the world after Liverpool announced on Monday that the Feyenoord coach will become their next manager. Slot was giving a speech in London.

The premier league team’s statement said that Urgeren Klopp, who said goodbye to Anfield amidst tears and heartaches, would officially become head coach on June 1st once his work permit request is approved. In fact, we only heard just a day ago that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving.

Although the club withheld information on Slot's contract duration, the British press widely reported that Slot had signed a three-year deal.

The new manager's hiring will be made public, as reports state that Liverpool and Feyenoord have reached an agreement on a compensation package worth up to £9.4 million ($12 million).

The 45-year-old Slot stated that Anfield is his next destination during his farewell pre-match press conference with the Eredivisie squad on Friday.

He commented the following morning: "Leaving a club where you have worked so successfully with so many lovely people and experienced so many wonderful moments is definitely not an easy decision to make.

"But as a sportsman, it is difficult to ignore an opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League at one of the biggest clubs in the world."

At the end of the 2023–24 season, 56-year-old Jurgen Klopp will step down from his role at Anfield, as he stated in January. Klopp's final game saw him oversee a 2-0 victory over Wolves.

Wrapping up his speech on the field, the German urged the supporters to give their full support to their new leader as he led them in chants of "Arne Slot, na na na na na".

"You welcome the new manager like you welcomed me," he replied. "You choose to go all in on the first day. Along with inspiring the others, you also stand by your convictions.

Slot, who has also been linked to a transfer to Tottenham, made his managerial debut at AZ Alkmaar the year before. In 2021, he was named Feyenoord's manager.

He led the Dutch powerhouses to their first-ever Europa League final on the last day of his debut season, but they were defeated 1-0 by Jose Mourinho's Roma.

In the same season that they won De Kuip's second league championship in the previous twenty-four years, Slot signed a three-year contract extension.

Feyenoord had a good season, as reflected in their Dutch Cup win and league finish of second, behind the invincible PSV Eindhoven.

As much as Klopp has hailed Slot for his work, De Kuip fans have been impressed with Feyenoord's free-flowing football.

I like the way his football team plays. "If he is the one, I like that he wants it," Klopp said in a statement a month ago.

The job is just about the greatest place on earth to work and the club is just about the greatest place on earth to play, too. The position is marked out by great work, a great team and great people. An incredibly exciting job."

Another Dutchman and Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk, hailed Slot for his brand of high-intensity football. Van Dijk suggested that Slot's approach would fit in well with the ethos of Anfield.

In response to a question regarding the future of the team under the new management, Van Dijk said, "It is all about sticking together and giving him the opportunity to show what he is capable of with the other players who will come in."

"He probably knows already, but everyone knows our expectations are always huge, and it is about managing that in the right way and getting the most out of all of our players."

Under the nine-year term of Klopp at Anfield, Liverpool managed to rise to the top of English and European football. Slot will have big shoes to fill that the missing legend left behind.

Liverpool, under him, won a long list of titles, including the sixth Champions League trophy, the 19th league victory, and several more honors.

There was initially speculation that the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso, a former Liverpool midfielder, may replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

However, Alonso declared that he would stay, having led Leverkusen to a first ever Bundesliga title the previous year.

Liverpool managed to qualify for the next year's Champions League after coming third in the Premier League. Besides, last year, Klopp guided the Liverpool team to the League Cup victory.
