Riyadh, February 21, 2024,The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) has announced its collaboration in organizing and hosting the annual "2024 Student Case Competition" in partnership with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), an event that draws accounting students from universities across the Middle East and Africa.
In a significant move, the competition will now accept applications in Arabic for the first time, reflecting SOCPA's dedication to enhancing knowledge in the realm of management accounting. This initiative underscores the organization's commitment to actively involving students in expanding their knowledge base and honing their skills, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's steadfast dedication to nurturing human capital to foster global competitiveness.
The competition, according to SOCPA, aims to address and assess challenges pertinent to the field, fostering the generation of innovative and high-quality solutions by teams comprising 3 to 5 members tasked with presenting a case study for a company.
SOCPA has also highlighted the lucrative financial prizes awaiting the winning teams, alongside a plethora of benefits such as grants to cover expenses associated with taking the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam.
Outlined participation requirements stipulate that eligible students must be enrolled in full-time bachelor's or graduate programs at the same university or college. Each participating team is mandated to designate a leader and have a faculty advisor from their respective institution. Furthermore, multiple teams, comprised of three to five members each, can be selected by eligible colleges or universities.
SOCPA has confirmed the final registration and solution submission deadlines to be March 10, with the evaluation of solutions and selection of nominated teams scheduled for April 15. The culmination of the competition will take place in Riyadh on May 1.
