Somali President Leaves Riyadh

The visit reinforced the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Somalia, highlighting both nations' commitment to collaboration within the Arab and Islamic communities.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation left Riyadh after participating in the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit, where they engaged in key discussions on regional cooperation and challenges.

Riyadh, November 12, 2024 — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia, along with his delegation, departed Riyadh today following their participation in the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit, which convened on November 11, 2024. During his visit, President Mohamud engaged in high-level discussions with Arab and Islamic leaders, contributing to important dialogues aimed at fostering regional cooperation and addressing key issues affecting the Arab and Islamic worlds.


As President Mohamud and his delegation left Riyadh, they were seen off at King Khalid International Airport by a distinguished group of officials, including Saudi Ambassador to Somalia Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid, Somali Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Owais Haji Yusuf Ahmed, and several other senior members of both the Saudi and Somali diplomatic communities. The farewell ceremony underscored the strong bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Somalia, highlighting their commitment to collaboration and mutual support within regional and international platforms.


The Somali President’s participation in the summit not only reflects Somalia’s dedication to supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region, but also reinforces its role as an active member of the Arab and Islamic communities, working towards shared goals of prosperity and security.
