Kampala, January 19, 2024, On the sidelines of the IGAD Summit in Kampala, Uganda, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia met with Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review and discuss the cooperation relations between the two countries. Both parties explored ways to strengthen and develop these relations across various fields, emphasizing mutual interests. The discussions also covered issues of common concern, highlighting the commitment of both Somalia and Saudi Arabia to fostering collaboration and understanding.
The Director General of the Office of the Vice Foreign Minister, Mutashar Al-Enezi, was also in attendance, underlining the significance of the diplomatic engagement and the importance attached to enhancing bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Somalia. Such interactions contribute to the ongoing efforts to build strong partnerships and promote regional stability.
