SOPC President signs MoU with French NOC President in Riyadh

Riyadh, February 14, 2024, Today in Riyadh, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), officially inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with David Lappartient, President of the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF). The primary aim of this MoU is to bolster bilateral relations and advance sports and Olympic cooperation between the two committees. Additionally, it seeks to facilitate the exchange of expertise and sports knowledge, thereby contributing to the administrative and technical development of both entities.

This historic MoU marks the first of its kind between the SOPC and the CNOSF and represents the eighth such agreement in the history of the French committee. Its significance is further underscored by France's upcoming role as the host of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through this agreement, the Saudi team will have the opportunity to closely observe the organization of these prestigious sporting events while in Paris.

Expressing his satisfaction at the signing of the MoU with the SOPC, President Lappartient regarded it as a golden opportunity to establish collaborative projects, promote greater societal integration of sports, and strengthen bilateral relations between the two committees. Prior to the signing ceremony, Lappartient also attended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival, where he lauded the exceptional organization of this esteemed race.
